1. Master in Jerusalem in collaboration with the Polis Institute
Among the different programs offered by our university, the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce accredits the 2-year Master of Arts in Ancient Philology program. The courses are held at Polis – the Jerusalem Institute of Languages and Humanities, our representative in Jerusalem. Polis is an institute which is constitutionally linked to the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce. Within this framework, Professor Jeronimo Leal of the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce, a member of Polis’ auditing committee alongside Professor Eusebio Gonzalez, teaches a course of Paleography every other year. Students who successfully complete the program in Jerusalem receive a diploma granted by the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce, signed by the rector of the university. For more information about the Master, please visit the internet page of the Institut.
2. Summer courses in Rome in collaboration with the Polis Institute
Starting July 2019, the Summer Ancient Language Courses at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, will be organized by the Polis Institute of Jerusalem. Persons interested in following the courses should contact directly the internet page of the Institute or write an email to their email address: info [at] polisjerusalem.org. All intensive courses will be held: Latin, Greek and Hebrew. Classes are conducted directly in Latin, Greek or Hebrew. The Polis Institute employs the most cutting-edge techniques for living languages by presenting the richness of Classical Latin, Ancient Greek and Biblical Hebrew through reading, writing, speaking and listening that follows a natural progression.
There is also a Methodological Seminar (2 weeks) for teachers of ancient languages who want to add techniques from the Polis Method to their classrooms.
The language courses last for three weeks.
For students of the Holy Cross credits received can be recognized for the License with a request to their own dean.
